TAPESTRY

‘In the Tracks of the Yellow Dog’  97 inches by 55, is my first finished work in this new medium. In the Autumn of 2015 I searched and found Flanders Tapestries in Belgium unaware of its deep history or its connection with contemporary artists. The yarns woven into this substantial tapestry were expertly selected to achieve a tonal harmony from my original image supplied in high key and contrasting colours. To my surprise and delight I had stepped into another world.

In the Tracks of the Yellow Dog
Lined, weighted and rolled in a signed and numbered edition, eight feet and one inch by four feet and seven inches.

The image in this tapestry is key to this year’s work and re-emerges in the exhibition of the same name. It unrolls to tell the story of a personal journey into an afterlife.
